I Had No Desire To Be Involved In The Music Busine

I had no desire to be involved in the music business, but I saw that Jerry
Brandt, who was the head of the music department at William Morris, had a
limousine, and he was hanging out with Mick Jagger. I asked him, "Jerry,
how do you get a limo?" He said, "Schmuck, you're twenty-four years old. Do
you think Norman Jewison is going to sign with you? Does Irene Dunne want
you to be her agent? You better get into the music business with people
your own age." I thought that was the best advice I'd ever heard, and
that's how I got into the music business.
