Last week, we saw two important acquisitions:
Adobe completed the acquisitions of Macromedia
in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $3.4 billion.
Macromedia shareholders received 1.38 of Adobe shares for each share they owned.
Another interesting acquisition was the
acquisition
of Del.icio.us, the bookmarking web site,
by Yahoo!, inc.
I have heard they have plans to integrate del.icio.us with
flickr, which they bought last year.
Also, from what I have heard, a large number of the users of both systems,
Flickr and Del.iscio.us, are not
happy with the acquisition news.
