Born in Iran, Behrooz attended Dr. Hashtroodi High School in Tehran before moving to the US in 1978. He received his BSEE from Montana State University in 1984 and MSEE from Georgia Tech in 1985. He started his career in Motorola as a design engineer working on high speed mixed signal ICs for video applications. His career in design and design management earned him 14 patents, several publications and the 1993 Motorola Distinguished Innovator Award. In 1995 Behrooz became an operations manager responsible for the cellular RF IC business within Motorola Semicoductor Products Sector. In 1999 he was named vice president and general manager for the radio products division in charge of RF and mixed signal ICs for the wireless mobile market where he has led Motorola to the #1 market position in RF ICs. Behrooz has lectured internationally in the area of communication systems and ICs, and has been the keynote speaker at several conferences addressing the future of M! obile market and technology.
